Our projects
We work with non-governmental and registered community building organisations, such as farmers' cooperatives, rural development organisations, youth projects, schools, and women's groups. We provide a package of support which includes a 7-day training course and equipment for 2 people for every 20 hives taken by the beneficiary project. Each project agrees to repay the cost of the hives on an interest-free basis over 4-5 years, against the income earned, developing business skills and allowing us to put money back into further training and manufacturing.
Each project also agrees to report to us every month on progress, by means of a simple monitoring form. This enables us to identify any problems with the hive management, and to arrange follow-up visits and support when necessary.
Hives Save Lives are grateful for the support of East African Breweries Ltd (EABL) and in particular their involvement in the Bali Kolping project.
